Have a great day out

Need to keep the kids entertained during the summer break? Here’s our pick of the best days out…

Young go cart race on circuit
Treasure Trails: Cheap thrills

There are 22 to choose from across the city and shire, including a treasure hunt in Duthie Park, a Spy mission in the city’s West End and a Detective Mystery in Old Aberdeen. At £9.99 per trail, it’s a great way to combine a little exercise with some imaginative problem solving. Each trail is at least a couple of miles long, with 20-25 clues to solve along the way and you can celebrate with ice-cream or a treat. Find them at treasuretrails.co.uk

Wynford Farm: Lots for little ones

Wynford Farm at Kingswells is a fun choice for smaller kids. All day tickets cost from £3.25 for under 2s, £4.75 for kids aged 2-16 and even adults are under a fiver for a weekday admission, although weekends and special activities are more expensive. Kids will love the cute animals in the Farm Park, animal barn and Wee Beasties Shed and can burn off some energy in the soft play area or the adventure playground. See what’s on at wynfordfarm.com

Lochter Activity Centre: Action-packed Adventures

For a day to remember, choose an activity package at Lochter near Oldmeldrum. Junior packages are £70 for a four-activity half day, or £90 for a six-activity full day, with adult prices being £90 and £110. They also offer kids’ parties and it’s a great choice for a group or special family event with kids who are eight or over. It’s best to book well in advance as some activities require minimum numbers or have an age limit. Activities include karting, archery, the Digger Challenge, climbing walls, target shooting or target golf, trout fishing and even walking on water. Over 12s can try clay shooting or blindfold off-road driving. Check it out at lochter.co.uk
