With a history spanning over 170 years, Glencraft know all about making high quality mattresses, divans and bedroom furniture designed to ensure a perfect night’s sleep. Discover how great their beds are by popping along to their new showroom and factory at Whitemyres Avenue and have a bit of a lie down. Glencraft’s mattresses are so comfortable you won’t want to get up in the morning!
The award-winning Aberdeen based charity and social enterprise supplies both retail and commercial customers offering a wide range of standard and bespoke products, made by 46 incredibly skilled local craftspeople, 80% of whom are disabled or disadvantaged.
Years of specialist skill goes into the production process, as Glencraft’s Collette Oliver explained, ‘All of our mattresses are hand-crafted in our Aberdeen factory using craft skills passed down through generations. We are the only factory in Scotland who still manufacture our bed springs in-house. This means that we are able to offer a bespoke service for our clients. We can provide beds and mattresses tailored to the needs of individual customers, including bespoke sizes or beds to fit in awkward spaces.’
Many of the UK’s leading hotels, who really understand the value of a contented customer getting a perfect night’s sleep, use Glencraft’s beds and mattresses. Offshore workers also benefit from Glencraft’s work, since long shifts make a decent rest of paramount importance. Most impressively, Glencraft hold a Royal Warrant as suppliers of beds and mattresses to the Balmoral Estate.
You can also see Glencraft’s range at The Scottish Kids Show in June or the Scottish Home Show in September, both at the AECC. For the first time, Glencraft mattresses are also available to buy online via Argos.co.uk, bringing a great product to a wider audience.
