One of Scotland’s leading kitchen designers is bringing a whole new concept in bespoke kitchens and interiors to their new creative design hub in the city.

Designer Kieron Bell is known for creating some of the country’s most luxurious, bespoke kitchens and interiors since launching in 2017. The multi award-winning designer has a shelf full of awards, including Kitchen Design of the Year at the kbb review Retail and Design Awards, Kitchen Designer of the Year at the designer kitchen and bathroom awards, Kitchen design of the year 2012 at the KBSA awards and he has appeared on the D-List.

Rather than a typical kitchen showroom, the new design studio on Great Western Road is more like an interiors studio. “We wanted to form as direct a link as possible between designer and client, combined with a level of personal service that is unmatched in Scottish kitchen and interior design. We specialise in producing spaces which blend the ergonomic functionality of the kitchen with the relaxing ambience of a living space.

“It’s a much more immersive experience for the client. My own passion for cooking and design brings an innovative perspective to every project that allows the style and design of the rooms to coexist with the everyday practicalities of what is often the fast-paced heartbeat of the home”, Kieron explained.

“DK&I is about really getting to know the person and how they will inhabit their new space throughout the design journey. This philosophy also extends to any other room in the home, from creating majestic master bedrooms suites to sumptuous spa bathrooms. The new studio will allow clients to see their project come to life, as well as functioning as a research and development space for refining the details specific to that project, ensuring it is truly tailor-made to each individual. We have the latest appliances and kitchen gadgets from Gaggenau, but all installed and working, so clients can try them, see how they work and experience them for themselves. We may even rustle up some lunch together!

“DK&I is about more than browsing round a showroom with a limited selection of styles and shuffling units around to fit your space. We create bespoke interiors, using specially sourced materials like hammered bronze or characterful local oak. We have a team of amazing craftspeople and fitters who work on our projects, ensuring the highest quality of finish. It’s a chance to get the kitchen, bathroom or bedroom you’ve always wanted.

“I’m delighted to bring this concept to Aberdeen. DK&I are rewriting the rule book of what to expect from a kitchen supplier by blending the worlds of kitchen and interior design together and adding a healthy dose of culinary appreciation into the mix. The idea that the road to achieving the perfect cooking and dining solution for a client’s home should involve cooking and dining with the client during the design process is a great example of our ethos.

“Our design studio will become a hub for like-minded design professionals to offer a collective and cohesive service. The coordination of architecture, kitchen, interior, lighting and furniture design can easily become needlessly disjointed, but our studio will provide an inspiring space for these elements to come together and achieve a perfect, seamless result.”

The new design studio will open this summer.
