The new salon reflects Dean’s exuberant personality, mixing industrial chic with touches of the baroque and enlivening the monochrome scheme with accents of fuchsia pink. Dean is joined by his sister Abigail, who is an amazingly talented stylist, while Olivia specialises in producing perfectly elegant brows and Louise’s beauty treatments – which include waxing, make up and over 130 shades of Gelish polish for the perfect manicure – guarantee you’ll be looking good.

Inside, each of the four staff have their own area – designed like tiny houses – so their clients can get complete individual attention in an atmosphere of calming privacy. Dean is known for his gift of working with his clients, being honest about their hair and helping them find the style and colour that most flatters them. He’s also known for going the extra mile for his regular clients, sometime starting work at 7am. Indeed, Chez Dean even opens seven days a week, with late night from Tuesday to Friday to suit client lifestyles. It’s typical of Dean’s close relationship with his clients and desire to o er the best hair and beauty care in the city. After all, as Dean’s favourite maxim goes, ‘We only do fabulous!’
