February can be a pretty gloomy month, but there’s a bright festival bringing some spectacular light installations to the city from February 11 to 14

Now in its third year, SPECTRA is paying homage to the Scottish Year of Innovation, Architecture & Design by taking the theme ‘Spark of Inspiration.’

There will be works from major international artists alongside installations from local creative groups, all incorporating sound and light. Many of the exhibits are fully interactive, allowing visitors to play and become part of the installation – fun whether you’re nine or ninety!

You’ll find SPECTRA across a variety of city centre locations including Union Terrace Gardens, St Nicholas Kirkyard, Marischal College and Seventeen, the gallery space on Belmont Street. The festival will feature major public realm and gallery installations alongside new experimental works from the creative community and a programme of family activities.
