Traditional craftmanship for modern kitchens

When it comes to modern kitchens, sometimes traditional materials and craftsmanship are best. Lethenty Cabinetmakers have a reputation for creating outstanding bespoke kitchens and custom made furniture.

The company, headed up by Graeme Winram, employs five specialist cabinetmakers and is widely regarded as a centre of woodworking excellence. Customers include some of the most prestigious houses in Aberdeenshire, including those owned by the National Trust for Scotland.

The firm is now fully back in business after a workshop fire last year, which destroyed the main workshop and much of the wood-working equipment. The new workshop at Cairntradlin, just north of Blackburn, produces some of Scotland’s best bespoke hand-built kitchens and furniture. Fabulous design, the highest standards of workmanship and wonderful timbers mean a Lethenty kitchen is the best money can buy, lasting and looking good
for decades.

Lethenty’s furniture is all custom made to each customers’ exact requirements, using local or exotic timber and incorporating other materials such as metal, glass, leather and stone into the design. Graeme Winram explained, ‘We design and make things well and that takes time – normally 4-8 weeks. It’s modern design combined with traditional craftsmanship’.

Commissioning Lethenty Cabinetmakers is a personal and rewarding experience, and the results certainly justify the extra time and effort involved. A visit to the showroom will give you plenty of ideas for your own kitchen; before a site visit to see how you use your kitchen, and how it relates to the family’s way of life, then measuring up and producing a selection of design options. That way, Lethenty can create a kitchen that not only looks fabulous and performs perfectly but one which is individually designed to work around the way you live your life.
