Property consultant and publican David Reid and Tony Dinozzi of the Wood Group wanted to use their passion for contemporary painting and extensive knowledge of the art world to benefit a local charity.

The pair are bringing works from some of the UK’s best artists to the city’s avid art collectors for a selling exhibition at The Chester Hotel in Queens Road over November 15 and 16. There are over
50 artists to choose from including popular favourites like Iain Faulkner, Jack Morocco, Chris Bushe, Gerard Burns, Glen Scouller, Christine McArthur, Marion Drummond, Stephen Mangan, Rusudana Glonti, Marie Buchan, Hazel McAllister and Sandie Youngson.

The show gives serious collectors the chance to snap up investment-worthy pieces at a competitive price, while benefiting Maggie’s Centre in Aberdeen. Rather than paying the normal commission taken by dealers and galleries, the profits will be helping to fund Maggie’s outstanding practical, emotional and social support programmes for cancer sufferers and their families.

Not only have the pair gathered work from some of the country’s best regarded contemporary artists, many of whom normally sell through exclusive London galleries and are showing for the first time in Aberdeen, but there are also works from local artists, to suit the pockets of those just starting to collect art, or who are looking for a gift. The works on show encompass a wide range of genres, from figurative works, abstracts, surrealism, still life and landscapes, so there’s something for every taste and budget, with prices from £50 to £20,000.

It’s a great opportunity to pick up a painting you’ll love, while helping a fabulous cause.
