Aberdeen Squash and Racketball Club is one of the biggest, friendliest racket sports clubs in the country, with seven courts, a fitness room and a programme of yoga and pilates classes available to members.

There’s also a popular sports bar and function room. The club welcomes everyone from children to pensioners, whether they are beginners or want to play competitively. Many women play the game, which is a mix of tactical awareness, racket skills and fitness. If squash seems intimidating, racketball is easier for beginners as the shorter racket and larger ball makes the rallies longer and more aerobic. Taster and walk-on sessions are available from £3 and there are a range of membership packages, as well as lessons and coaching available. It’s also a great way to meet new people and perhaps try something new, or rekindle a previous passion for the sport.
