Linton & Mac, a fabulous new hair salon on Netherkirkgate, is already gaining fans for the winning combination of an eclectic interior, friendly atmosphere, knowledgeable staff and great results.
Creative directors Joanna MacDonald and Jennifer Linton have a wealth of experience after previously working at some of the city’s top salons, and wanted to make their own salon truly special. The girls have combined minimalist bespoke fittings and online finds to create a unique setting, which makes the funky salon feel as if you’ve been transported to London or New York.
Welcomed by a comfortable open lounge area, the salon boasts a rustic chic vibe, which is complimented by the house music played throughout the salon. You can also try out the raised styling area called The Bar where you can have a complimentary drink or two as the team treat you to the full on Linton & Mac experience whilst getting you ready for a night on the town. The whole atmosphere is extremely relaxed.
Joanna is a previous UK finalist in Wella’s Trend competition, and is a trained L’Oreal colour specialist. She’s also great at styling and permanent blow dries. Jennifer has also been a Trend Visions finalist and specialises in flattering cuts, extensions and bridal hair.
The salon attracts a wide range of customers, from young professionals and students to businessmen and women. It’s popular with both men and women and Joanna and Jennifer have plans to add a range of men’s grooming services in the coming months.
Jennifer explained: ‘We want our customers to feel special from the moment they come into the salon. We want everyone who steps into the salon to have an enjoyable, up-beat experience, and leave with fabulous hair. It’s all about the Linton & Mac experience.’
Joanna added: ‘We wanted to keep things affordable for our clients, while offering cuts that range from the classic to more adventurous looks. It’s a high end salon, without the high end prices not to mention our refreshments menu is fantastic.’
