At this time of year many of us want to eat more fresh, seasonal produce.

My advice is keep any changes very simple. Try adding a few more fresh ingredients to your shopping list or reduce your sugar content by using fewer ready-made meals. Adapt your favourites, if you love sweet and sour chicken, for example, add some spinach or pak choi at the last minute.

It’s better to have one really good balanced meal than trying to change everything. Try porridge with some
fresh berries and nuts and a little cinnamon. For lunch, make a simple soup with oatcakes or rice crackers instead of bread.

At Eat on the Green, we grow a lot of our own veg, but several local farm shops off er a veg box delivery service. The freshness and fl avour will be second to none, so give it a go!
