What we’d give for the perfect brow, from the on-point arch to just the right thickness! Eyebrows frame our face, and getting those brows spot on can change your entire look. If you fell victim to the pencil thin brows of the Nineties, we understand. Have your poor brows never quite recovered from aggressive over-plucking? Trend is here to help; there’s plenty of options available and we’ve rounded up some expert tips plus some magic products to give you the brows of your dreams.
Brow specialist Harley Somerville has been shaping brows for the past decade and believes there is not a one size fits all approach. Based at Dandello in Aberdeen and The Beauty Studio in Portlethen, she recommends a consultation so you can settle on the right treatment. “If you already have a great brow then regular tinting and waxing could be all that’s needed,” she says. Harley also offers brow lamination if you’re in need of extra volume, or henna brows for sparse hair. Microblading can be fantastic if you’re experiencing brow loss, whether that be from overplucking or chemotherapy. As for those magic products, Harley rounded up her top three. We have the Benefit Gimme Brow – great for adding volume. Next up is HD Brows Precision Pencil – perfect for defining and shaping. And finally, the NYX Cosmetics Brow Pen – ideal for creating realistic, hair-like strokes. Follow Harley on Instagram browswitharley
Did you know there is such a thing as a brow lift? Well placed temple filler can help reframe your brow and is on offer with Dr Siobhan Hewson of Terrace Aesthetics in Aberdeen terraceaesthetics.co.uk
Brenda Cardno of Treat Company in Fraserburgh can offer precise eyebrow sculpting, with all treatments detailed over at treatcompany.co.uk
Brenda uses LYCOJET EyeBrow hot wax, which removes hairs as short as 1mm with minimal pain. Tinting the brows can make them appear fuller, and Sculpted Brows is also a popular treatment to create a natural look. “This treatment refines and defines eyebrows to create a polished, well-groomed appearance,” says Brenda. “It uses methods like mapping, waxing, tweezing, and tinting to achieve symmetry and structure that complements facial features. The goal is to enhance natural beauty by creating a balanced, defined brow shape that frames the eyes and face.”
So, there you have it, may your brows be raised in perfection this autumn.
