Mamma Pizza

Walk into Mamma Pizza and you’ll likely find yourself enjoying your traditional Italian fare sat next to quite a few Italians – a good sign of just how good the food is when Italians themselves are flocking to this molto buona restaurant.

The food is simple but tasty, and all prepared by Italian chefs. Start off with the deep fried rice balls filled with melted mozzarella and ragù sauce, followed by typically Italian thin crust prosciutto pizza or tonnarelli bolognese pasta.

Wash it all down with a bottle of vino of your choice – the restaurant is BYOB – and enjoy a relaxed evening of la dolce vita.

Chaophraya

Authentic doesn’t come close to describing Aberdeen’s newest Thai restaurant. Located in the former Monkey House building, everything in Chaophraya is truly Thai in origin.

From the food, handcrafted by native Thai chefs in the specially designed kitchen, to the traditional Thai welcome by the waiting staff, to the décor imported all the way from Thailand itself, Chaophraya is a cultural food haven in the middle of the Granite City.  The food is exquisitely prepared and presented, with the beef dishes in particular succulent and deliciously flavoured with herbs and spices. As for the cocktails, they’re out of this world. It would be criminal not to try one.
