A blend of North-east cafe life…

Coppa Coffee

If you’re looking for a good place to catch up with friends over coffee, to talk business over a working lunch, or simply to relax and take in some professional artwork with a piece of homemade shortbread, then city-based Coppa offers a little something for everyone. Their chocolatey cappuccino will perk you up for an afternoon of work, and their larger than life slices of Victoria sponge make for a perfect 3pm sugar refill. If you’re having a particularly challenging day, a Coppa cup of tea will see away any daytime drama – even the most ardent of tea connoisseurs will find themselves quietly supping away on a Coppa brew, their silence speaking a thousand words of approval.

The Coffee Apothecary

Visitors to this Aladdin’s cave of tea and coffee would be forgiven for thinking they were in Italy, given this cafe’s dedicated array of caffeinated hot beverages.  They take their drinks seriously in the Coffee Apothecary, but they have much fun serving them, with many of their sophisticated coffees served in quirky glass beakers.  The caffeine is amiably washed down with a chic and filling lunch menu, and is followed by much fawning over the range of dessert goodies in the cake cabinet.  The carrot cake is divinely soft and crumbly, and the banana and chocolate muffin looks almost too pretty to eat, but its zesty icing and sponge combination won’t hold you back for too long!
