Entertaining at home can be a bit hectic, but here are a few tips to make sure you’re not stuck in the kitchen all night.
Lay your dining or buffet table the day before to avoid a panic. Make some easy nibbles. Try honey drizzled chipolata sausages sprinkled with sesame seeds, or roast nuts warmed through with rapeseed oil and sea salt. Puff pastry circles topped with cheese and chutney and baked in the oven are moreish, while shot glasses filled with warm tomato soup, a dash of Tabasco and a shot of vodka go down well. Another crowd-pleaser is haggis rolled into balls and dipped in flour, egg and breadcrumbs then shallow fried. Yum!
Keep mulled wine in a thermos flask, ready for when your guests arrive. Try placing an clove-studded orange on a radiator for a festive aroma. Above all, relax and have a great time.
