David Butters, Head Chef at Douneside House is awarded Hotel Chef of the Year at the Scottish Hotel Awards

Douneside House, the AA’s Hotel of the Year 2017/18, offers the region’s only three rosette dining experience and their menu features culinary delights using only the finest local ingredients, including fresh produce from their own gardens.

Head Chef David Butters recently added to his culinary achievements by scooping the coveted ‘Hotel Chef of the Year’ and ‘Fine Dining Restaurant of the Year’ awards at the prestigious Scottish Hotel Awards, which was held at a prestigious ceremony in Edinburgh this month.

David said ‘I’m delighted, humbled, proud and honoured to be recognised in this manner. We’re a small team of chefs at Douneside and all my team put an incredible amount of time, effort and passion into our cuisine, creating innovative menus, including a six-course tasting menu. I couldn’t have won Hotel Chef of the Year without the support of my fantastic team.’
