Eat on the Green’s Craig Wilson, the Kilted Chef, is back with some advice on getting your kids to eat their veggies

It’s never easy to encourage kids to try healthier foods, especially when they think broccoli is the work of the devil! Be inventive and a little devious. Try using unusual serving dishes, wrapping unloved foods in a parcel or making it part of a story.

Don’t make them eat something or their resistance will grow. Soup’s often a good way to introduce a new ingredient especially with a novelty accompaniment of popcorn. Another idea is to serve smaller portions of grown up food so that they can copy Mum and Dad.

Finally, it’s good to have the kids involved in the selection and purchasing of food, so that they can get excited about meals over the coming week, or even better – grow your own veg and let them help harvest it!
