House of Hari: A stylish new salon
The House of Hair is celebrating its first year at its new salon premises on Dee Street. Owner Lorraine Malcolm who started the family-friendly business nine years ago explained, ‘We started on Orchard Street back in 2013, but I wanted somewhere more central.
‘I found our Dee Street site in February 2021. Lockdown gave us time to design the new salon. We now have a large customer car park and room to add to our services. We offer makeup services and I’m hoping to add a nail technician soon. We offer Princess Packages from £40 upwards for girls and a Queen for the Day package for £75 which includes full makeup, lashes and either a blow dry or putting hair up and a cocktail at a local bar. Great for a big night out. We’ve even renovated a space for a pop up shop, which I’m very excited about.
‘We cater to all ages. We want to make each client feel special, being the best version of themselves without breaking the bank! Some of our clients have very busy lifestyles, so we’ve brought in LUMI10. This is an amazing colour product from JOICO which gives 100% grey coverage in ten minutes. It’s suitable for men too. We’re the only salon in Aberdeen that offers it.
‘We’re constantly training and bringing in new services. One of our Senior Stylists started as a Saturday Girl and went on to be recognised as Hair & Beauty’s Assistant of the Year in 2019. We now offer Balmain Hair Extensions and aftercare services. We are qualified Balmain Angels, meaning we can deliver the best possible service to our clients.
‘We’re about great cuts, great colour and great customer service.’
