Eyes right!

This autumn, the emphasis is firmly on the eyes when it comes to beauty, not surprising now that we spend half our lives behind a face-covering.

Lay the ground work for sparkling eyes with Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado (£39, Kiehls.co.uk). This colder weather essential is enriched with nurturing avocado oil, helping to soothe dryness in the delicate area around the eyes and protecting the orbital bone.

Charlotte Tilbury’s Eyes to Mesmerise (£22, Charlottetilbury.com) is a beautiful eye cream which glides on, leaving a shimmering and pigmented finish in no time at all. Perfect for mornings when you’re running late. The cream is designed to cool down the eyes and protect them from antioxidant radicals. With six shades to pick from, there’s one for every
skin tone.

Update your look by matching your eye makeup to the colour of your mask. This obviously works better with natural and pastel shades, unless you’re going full on Goth this season. Treat yourself by splurging out on the Yves Saint Laurent Couture Colour Clutch Paris eyeshadow palette (£100, Selfridges.com). From soft neutral tones to sunny pops of pastels, this palette has an array of shades to accessorise alongside your mask.

Brows remain thick and relatively natural. Try Charlotte Tilbury’s Brow Lift (£22.50, Feelunique.com). Not only will this give your brows a groomed look while filling any sparse areas along the brow line, you can also comb your fine hairs into place. Best of all, it comes in a great selection of shades from taupe to brunette to black, so there’s one for every hair colour.

Face coverings mean that kohl is making a comeback and eye liners are more emphatic this season. If your eyeliner looks like you took a YouTube tutorial from the Joker rather than Catwoman, invest in Dior’s Diorshow Art Pen (£27.50, Dior.com). The fine tip allows for beautiful shapes to be drawn and the colour to be built up, making this liquid liner the perfect option for a daytime wear. It’s simple to create intense yet subtle winged eye liner looks from a stroke of a pen.

When it comes to mascara, Benefit’s Roller Lash Mascara (£22.50, Benefitcosmetics.com) is superb for curling and lifting lashes. It’s the next best thing to false lashes. A single coat gives you a natural day time lash look or you can build up several coats for a fuller look. It even comes in a mini size for £12 which is great for travel – even if it’s just a trip to the shops!
