The debate is still raging between digital disciples and traditionalists after the recent launch of the new Apple watch. While some in the traditional watch industry may be apprehensive about smartwatches, there are others who see their merits.
I believe there is a place for both traditional watchmaking and digital innovation. The Apple Watch launch has made watchmakers sit up and take notice and it has shone a spotlight on the industry as a whole which is fantastic. I think there is a place for everything and nothing can quite compare with the craftsmanship and skill that goes into creating a fantastic watch.
It is not a case of having to either have the Apple Watch or a traditional one. At the end of the day people often aspire towards the higher end and that is something that is never going to change.
