I always believe it’s best for both health and flavour to eat seasonally. At the moment you will see new life appearing, lambs, chickens, spring greens, fresh herbs, new season potatoes – all of course bursting with flavours.

If your kids hate vegetables, try making a delicious homemade tomato sauce and sneak in ingredients like fresh herbs, sprouting broccoli, spinach, rocket or watercress, which are all in season. Blitz with a hand blender, mix through pasta and
the kids will never know it’s good for them!

Always put fresh items at the top of your shopping list for a healthier balanced approach. We grow a lot of our own vegetables at Eat on the Green. Home grown produce tastes amazing, and you can grow salads and herbs in pots on a windowsill.
