The Platform in Macduff is the best use for an old railway station we’ve ever seen. Over the past few months, the building has evolved into a wonderful shopping destination.

It’s the perfect place to spend an enjoyable afternoon treating yourself to something new and catching up over lunch, or coffee and cake while enjoying spectacular Moray Firth views and spotting a dolphin or two.

The Platform offers a fabulous selection of gift, home furnishings, clothing for men and women, cycles and watersport equipment and a great little patisserie called Annie’s Cakery. Better yet, both fashion and gifts are on trend and something a little bit different. Perfect if you’re on the hunt for an outfit for a special event, or just fancy a bit of relaxed browsing. 

You’ll find a great selection of women’s labels including casual weekend favourites like Superdry and Fitflop, daywear from Tia and B’Young and well cut trousers from Robell.  There’s also a stunning selection of casual and occasion wear from Carla Ruiz, Latte, Laura Bernal and jewellery from Sif Jacobs.

The menswear collection majors on robust styles from outdoor specialists Dubarry and Helly Hansen as well as casual ranges from Superdry and French Connection, with more ranges being added
this Autumn.

In the giftware department, you’ll find something to suit almost every occasion or person.  There’s some wonderful glassware, cute baby gifts, celebration gifts and a great selection of cards. The fun collection of champagne cork tables and stools are great for indoors and outdoors.

No visit to The Platform would be complete without popping into Annies’ Cakery for a lunch or a delicious little treat. If you’re feeling generous, you can even take a cake or two home.
