Twice a year the jewellery world flocks to Vicenza near Venice for its world-renowned jewellery exhibition.
I joined the best names in the business in Italy to look for the latest trends, new ideas and innovation to bring back to our shop in Aberdeen.
Exploring the numerous jewellery boutiques tucked up alleys next to St Mark’s Square inspired me to bring back some pendants and necklaces that exemplify the allure of Venice. Eye-catching and dynamic with a nod to history, heritage and architecture, they are the perfect accessory.
Long necklaces and chains were a clear trend at the exhibition and it was easy to see why. Their contrast of elegance and practicality mean these pieces will last a lifetime as they’re so beautiful yet incredibly versatile.
Illusion rings, where precious stones are built up to give the impression of one large stone, were also a standout winner and are bound to be hugely popular this year. They are ideal dress rings if you are looking for drama and sparkle but at a more affordable price-point than a one carat stone. These rings deliver, the seamless craftsmanship and beauty of the stones really punch above their weight.
