At the age of 21, Lewis Proctor was talent-spotted by McLaren racing team during a race in Austin Texas, and now a year on, due to a combination of serendipity, hard work and family support, his contract has been renewed with the racing giant for another year. Lewis grew up racing with his dad at club level, and now competes in the 2-3 hour endurance races of the British GT Championship. He and his three team-mates will compete in seven race weekends across Europe this year, whilst off the track he spends his time in intensive training which includes mindfulness, diet and fitness regimes and training on a simulator; as well as coaching car owners for McLaren at customer events. Considering that two years ago Lewis was behind a desk operating a computer, this really must feel like living the dream!
